Bakery

I just got back from the bakery. My coworker is overworked and I offered to go get her a snack.

This bakery is unique. It's in a basement and you stand outside to give your order and the food is handed up to you.

There was a little boy begging outside the stand. Then he ran across the street and started staring at me. I've been told that the lineup is a popular spot for pickpockets.

A bus went by and he pushed all the "open door" buttons. Then he ran back across the street to the lineup where he started begging for money.

When I paid, I was afraid he would suddenly grab my money and run. But that's foolish. Street kids here are more of a nuissance than anything else. I still felt bad though. I'm buying food and he's begging me for food. Almost made me want to ask the lady for a bit more so I could give it to him. However, I've been told they want money, not food.
