About Me
- Name: Karla
- Location: Canada
I came to Romania straight out of university as an intern working with intercultural education. After extending my contract twice, I realised how much I love my newly adopted country and decided to stay as long as I could. "As long as I could" turned into 361 days. I am now back in Canada, but am hoping to revive this blog to coincide with my new job.

Jaysus! Reminds me of my long-deceased Grandfather and his absolute, maniacal love for backgammon (which I inherited).
Great pictures. Takes me back 25 years.
This guy had the absolute coolest eyebrows I've ever seen. We sat outside playing backgammon all afternoon. He beat me every time, pr0bably because I'm too nice and I felt bad "protecting myself".
He had a whole shelf of letters and pictures of himself with customers from around the world. Almost every Turkish merchant has this to attest to the quality of their shop.
Still, his eyebrows looked like giant caterpillas stapled to his brow. Reminded me of a great horned owl.
Good times!
