Thankful

Another FAC intern, Per, is working in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I quite enjoyed his Thanksgiving post so I'll do a similar one here.

What I'm thankful for (in no particular order):
a) Mom: I love you and I can't to see you in Italy in a month
b) Nancy: thanks for being the best aunt in the world
c) my family: blended families aren't always the easiest, but I've got the best of both worlds
d) my Canadian friends: Jana, Sarah, Terri, Mariko, Beej, Ryan, Tim, Costa, Jay, Greg, Koren, Lana, Kanika, Jo and everyone else from Mt A, I love you!
e) my international friends: Dario, Pako, Rasmus, Daniel, Cem, Nuno, David, Vlad, Boris, Momir, Bertrand, Seb, Marcus, Sarha, Cecile, Shaharazade, Camilla and others who are too numerous to mention
f) my Romanian friends: Vlady, Nadia, Adriana, Cosmin, Adrian, Philippe, Ciprian and everyone else whom I haven't met yet
g) my other FAC interns: Jane, Rob, Rob, Marc, Per, Maud, Tony, Kat, Lee, Kenan, Sarah, Gogi and Marko: we're going to take over the world someday
g) my education: Mt A gave me the best four (three?) years of my life
h) Romania: Working in eastern Europe has always been a dream of mine and sometimes I still can't believe that I'm here
i) my health: I have not caught any of the exotic diseases my travel nurse warned me about
j) my Canadian passport. Yes, I complain about not being European, but I'm glad I come from a country that lets me both praise and complain about it freely
k) my apartment here in Timisoara: I want to bring it back with me
l) Timisoara's cathedral when it's foggy
m) Timisoara's fountain when it's not
n) Wikipedia: a nice unbiased free reference centre
o) Fark, The Onion, X-Entertainment and everything else that helps me waste time
p) Timisoara: you are a wonderful, beautiful city and I'm so proud to call you my home for the next seven months
q) The Institute: thanks for letting me work with you
r) Email and SMS: great for those pangs of homesickness
s) Strasbourg, France and Helsingborg, Sweden: you helped make me what I am today
t) Air, Verdena, Kent: thanks for making some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard

I'm sure I can add to this list but it's long enough already!

If USA is a melting pot and Canada is a mosaic, then what is Romania?
A puzzle?
