Disco madness
Now I’m just trying to enjoy my last week here. Almost everything I do is my "last". I took Nelu out to dinner on Saturday and then we met up with friends to go to a disco. Romanian discos aren’t like ones at home. I’m used to big discos (which we do have) but many are small with room just for 15-20 people and a small area to sit down. This one was a mixture of pop and Latino music but it was so hot inside.
I spied an empty table in the back. I sat down on the absolute corner of the bench (this detail is important). Soon, a Romanian girl came over and started screaming and pointing her fingers in my face. Ehn? My friend translated that she had reserved the table and didn’t want us sitting there. Well, I’m sorry, but a) no one was there and b) there are much more polite ways of getting people out of your seat. So I spent the greater part of the next hour plotting my revenge. Started with "accidentally" spilling something sticky on her, then I thought that would be too obvious, so I thought about spilling something on the seat. Then I had the brilliant idea of just dumping water on the seat. No one would get hurt but she would get wet. However, I didn’t know if it would be her who would sit down, and besides, in that heat, the water could evaporate. So I thought about handing her a note as I left "What goes around comes around".
