Burec

I did it!

I made burec!

Ok, so it wasn't perfect but it still tasted great.

My meat mixture was fantastic. Hamburger + paprika + allspice is a delicious combination.

I can't believe I actually found allspice at the grocery store.

It was quite easy putting everything together. Much easier than I had anticipated. I modelled my burec after the one I had in Belgrade which was shaped like a log.

The only problem was that I could not figure out how to use my gas stove. I turned the nob, heard the gas come out and then???

What do I do next? Throw a match in there?

I decided to improvise and fry it.

With my first try, I used too much philo pastry (like six sheets), so while the outside was cooked, the inside was not. Good thing I like raw philo pastry!

On the second try, I used about three sheets and it was fantastic. I tried to save it for breakfast today but as soon as I was done cleaning up, I ate it.

I even found vaguely Serbian-esque yoghurt!

Ok, I will now officially shut up abour burec.
