Saturday
I tried to do a bit of shopping in the morning. I wanted to check out a few shops that I pass by every day coming home from work. I honestly don't know how these stores stay open. Many of the sweaters were 50-80 euros. They weren't even that good quality! I guess I'm just going to do my shopping in Italy.
I spent a lot of the evening cleaning up for my guests. Maud, another FAC intern, met two French guys at a conference (and not in Bucharest, as I initially wrote). They were passing through Timisoara and needed a place to crash. I offered them my spare room. One of the guys is actually going on an exchange to the university in my city so he had lots of questions. I had lots of answers!
After meeting at the train station, I took them in a tour downtown. They loved Timisoara. They're living in Bacau and told me how much nicer Timisoara is than their city. I have to agree. (!) I got us lost trying to find the supermarket, but eventually we got there and loaded up on treats and goodies: bread, cheese, chocolate wafers, Olla (these cereal thingies filled with hazelnut cream), pickles, wine... We had a veritable feast when we got back!
